Nagpur: After demonstrations in Delhi and Pune, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is now preparing to shift its focus to Nagpur. The proposed protest is expected to raise concerns over the alleged NEET paper leak, unemployment, and problems in the education sector.
According to party supporters, an application seeking permission for the protest has already been submitted to authorities and discussions have also taken place with CJP founder Abhijit Dipke, who is likely to lead the agitation in Nagpur.
The protest has been proposed for June 16 at Samvidhan Square in central Nagpur. Organisers have formally sought approval to hold the gathering at the designated protest site.
Party functionaries in Nagpur initially approached Sitabuldi Police Station for permission. However, police reportedly adopted a cautious approach and directed the applicants to complete the process through the Nagpur Police Commissioner’s Office.
According to application, 2,000 youths and citizens are expected to participate in the protest.
Meanwhile, police sources indicated that the organisers are more likely to receive approval, though the final decision is still awaited from the competent authorities. With the Home Department under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ portfolio, attention has now turned to whether authorities formally clear the event or reject the request.
If approved, the demonstration could emerge as a significant youth-led political mobilisation in Nagpur around employment and education-related concerns.
