Nagpur: A 29-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted with a helmet and a brick by another woman following a dispute involving their young daughters in Bidgaon, under Bhandewadi police station limits.

According to the police complaint, the incident took place at the complainant’s residence near Cherry Company in Bidgaon. The complainant, Shilpa Sunil Rithe (29), is a homemaker.

The dispute reportedly began when Shilpa’s six-year-old daughter, Sanvi, was playing with the accused woman’s two-year-old daughter, Advika. During the play, Advika allegedly hit Sanvi on the head with an object, following which Shilpa counselled her daughter.

However, the accused woman, identified in the complaint as Chanda Suraj Shahu (32), allegedly went to Shilpa’s house and attacked her with a helmet and a brick, leaving her injured.

Shilpa is undergoing treatment at Bhawani Hospital.

Based on the complainant’s statement, Bhandewadi police registered a case under Sections 118(1) and 329(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Further investigation is underway.
