Nagpur: A 35-year-old man and his 47-year-old female friend have been booked by Pachpaoli police for allegedly sharing a woman’s obscene photographs without her consent and circulating them among her relatives, causing her humiliation.

According to the police, the complainant and the male accused are husband and wife. The husband allegedly took obscene photographs of his 30-year-old wife without her consent and sent them to his female friend on her mobile phone.

The woman’s husband’s female friend allegedly showed the photographs to the complainant’s relatives through her mobile phone, thereby damaging the woman’s reputation among family members.

The complainant subsequently submitted a written application to senior police officials. Following an inquiry into the allegations, Pachpaoli police registered a case against the husband and his female friend under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The offences include provisions relating to the unauthorised capture or dissemination of private images and defamation. Further investigation is underway.
