Nagpur: A 25-year-old youth lost his life in a tragic accident during a Ganesh Visarjan procession near Koradi in the wee hours of Monday, September 8.

The deceased, identified as Ajay Laxman Yadav (25), a resident of Dharampeth, Sitabuldi, was riding a Pulsar motorcycle (MH 31 FJ 3582) alongside his Ganesh mandal members. While overtaking a trailer truck (RJ 47 GA 4326) near the flyover opposite private hospital in Koradi police station limits, the truck allegedly swerved rashly, causing Yadav to fall. He came under the rear wheels of the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.

Locals rushed him to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

On the complaint of his father, Laxman Jabbarsingh Yadav (50), Koradi police registered a case against truck driver Rajesh Gopal Chaudhary of Ajmer, Rajasthan under BNS sections 281 and 106(1), along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway.
