Two Youths Killed in High-Speed Hit-and-Run Accident on Hingna Road

Nagpur: Two young men lost their lives in a tragic road accident caused by a speeding Bolero pickup vehicle in the Hingna police station jurisdiction on Tuesday evening.


The incident occurred around 4.45 pm on January 20 near the Outer Ring Road bridge, close to Bombay Furniture, on the Monda–Hingna Road. The victims, Suraj Sheshnath Bharti (21) and Karan Tengar Shah (19), both residents of Ward No. 3 near Sachin Medical, Rajiv Nagar, were travelling on a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle (MH-40 CZ-1560).


A Mahindra Bolero pickup (MH-40 CM-2786), reportedly transporting chickens, rammed into their motorcycle from the front at high speed. The driver was allegedly driving rashly and negligently and fled the spot after the collision. Both youths sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the Hingna Rural Hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.


Based on a complaint filed by Chandrajit Kumar alias Rudra Kamal Yadav (18), a resident of Rajiv Nagar, Hingna Road, Hingna police have registered a case against the Bolero driver under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 134, 174, and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway.
