Nagpur: Two married women allegedly died by suicide in separate incidents reported from the Nandanvan and MIDC police station limits in Nagpur. Police have registered accidental death cases and initiated investigations to ascertain the circumstances leading to the deaths.
45-Year-Old Woman Dies by Suicide After Domestic Dispute in Nandanvan
In the first incident, Nandini Mahesh Mangalkar (45), a resident of Plot No. 59, Mire Layout, Gurudev Nagar under the Nandanvan police station limits, allegedly died by suicide by hanging.
According to the police, Nandini had reportedly been involved in a domestic dispute with her husband four to five days before the incident. Following the argument, her husband had allegedly stopped speaking to her.
On July 23, 2026, she was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of her residence using a scarf (odhani). Family members rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital (Medical Hospital), Nagpur, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Based on the information received, Nandanvan Police registered an Accidental Death (AD) Case No. 63/2026 under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and have begun an inquiry into the incident.
Woman Found Hanging at Home in MIDC Area
In another incident, Mahi Roshan Khandare (40), a resident of Gedam Layout, Hingna Road, was found dead at her residence under the MIDC police station limits.
According to the statement of her husband, Roshan Ramesh Khandare (26), Mahi allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan using a scarf before 8 am on July 24, 2026. The reason behind the alleged suicide is not yet known.
Based on the husband’s statement, MIDC Police registered an Accidental Death (AD) Case No. 114/2026 under Section 194 of the BNSS. Further investigation is underway.
