Nagpur: What began as a dispute over a delayed Meesho parcel delivery escalated into an attempted murder, leaving a 28-year-old mechanic critically injured after he was allegedly stabbed multiple times in Kamthi. New Kamptee Police have arrested three accused in the case.
The victim has been identified as Ashish alias Nehal Ramuji Dhadade (28), a mechanic residing near Nehal Automobile Garage in JP Nagar, Old Kamptee.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a delay in delivering a Meesho parcel. Ashish’s 21-year-old friend, who works as a Meesho delivery executive, had allegedly delayed delivering a parcel to a young woman. Upset over the delay, the woman called him and reportedly said, “Do you want to deliver the parcel or make this a bigger issue?”
Following the call, the delivery executive went to meet the woman along with Ashish. An argument broke out between the delivery executive and the woman along with her relatives near ITI College in Ravidas Nagar, Kamptee. When Ashish intervened to pacify both sides, the woman’s neighbour, Sachin Ayush Bagde (19), allegedly threatened to kill him.
Police said Sachin later repeatedly made anonymous phone calls to Ashish before asking him to meet at the same location on the night of July 22. Believing the matter would be settled, Ashish and his friend reached the spot.
However, police alleged that Sachin Ayush Bagde (19), Abhishek Kishore Kadbe (21), and Sumit Siddharth Shende (23) had conspired to attack him. Nursing a grudge over Ashish and his friend allegedly speaking loudly with the woman during the earlier altercation, Sachin allegedly pulled out a knife concealed in his waistband and stabbed Ashish three times on the left side of his abdomen and waist with the intention of killing him. The other two accused allegedly assisted him during the assault.
Ashish was first taken to the Kamthi Sub-District Hospital, where he received initial treatment before being referred to Mayo Hospital. His family later shifted him to a private hospital near Gangabai Ghat in Nagpur, where he remains admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Based on Ashish’s complaint, New Kamthi Police registered a case under Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder), 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
