Couple Arrested with 7.06 kg Ganja in Yashodhara Nagar, NDPS Case Registered

Nagpur: In a major anti-drug operation, Yashodhara Nagar Police arrested a husband and wife for allegedly running a ganja trafficking racket from their residence in Sangharsh Nagar and seized 7.061 kg of cannabis during a raid on Thursday.


The accused have been identified as Mohammad Sarfaraz Akhtar Sattar Ansari (39) and Gausiya Parveen Mohammad Sarfaraz Ansari (35), residents near Shaheed Medical in Sangharsh Nagar.


According to police, they received specific information that the couple was selling ganja from their house. Acting on the tip-off, a police team raided the premises, where officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis. A search of the house led to the recovery of 7.061 kg of ganja concealed inside a plastic sack.


The contraband was seized and both accused were taken into custody. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigations are underway to identify the source of the drugs and any possible links to a wider narcotics network.
