Nagpur: A theft was reported at a gas agency office under the Old Kamptee police station limits after unidentified thieves broke open the shop shutter and decamped with cash.

Complainant Jayprakash Premnarayan Tiwari (63), a resident of Mall Road in the Cantonment area, owns C. Tiwari & Company Gas Agency located at Netaji Chowk on Main Road. He had closed the office on the night of January 25 and returned home.

Unknown accused allegedly forced open one side of the shutter, entered the office, and stole ₹1,12,140 in cash from the counter. CCTV footage checked later reportedly showed a suspect identified as Sachin alias Wangya committing the theft at around 2:08 am on January 26.

Based on the complaint, Old Kamptee Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway to trace and arrest the accused.
