Nagpur: In a major step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring advanced infection control, a Low Temperature Plasma Sterilization System was inaugurated at the Divisional Railway Hospital, Central Railway, Nagpur. The system was formally inaugurated by Shri Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway.
The inaugural event was attended by senior officials of Central Railway and Branch Officers of Nagpur Division.
This cutting-edge sterilization system has been procured under the Machine and Plant (M&P) Programme 2024–25, with due sanction from the Railway Board.
The Low Temperature Plasma Sterilization System is designed specifically for heat- and moisture-sensitive medical instruments. It enables faster turnaround, residue-free processing, and eco-friendly operation. By delivering high-standard disinfection without compromising on equipment longevity, the system significantly boosts the hospital’s sterilization and infection control capabilities.
This technological advancement reflects Central Railway’s ongoing commitment to providing world-class healthcare services to its beneficiaries and railway employees. It will play a crucial role in enhancing patient safety, maintaining stringent hygiene standards, and ensuring reliable sterilization of critical medical equipment.
