Nagpur: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Delhi, has launched a nationwide toll-free helpline number ‘1933’ under the initiative ‘MANAS’ (Mental Health and Addiction Support). This helpline has been operational since January 11, 2025, and is available 24x7 to receive information and complaints related to the sale, distribution, and misuse of narcotic substances.
The Nagpur Police have appealed to all citizens to actively use the ‘MANAS’ helpline to report any drug-related activities in their localities. The initiative is part of the central government’s broader effort to combat drug abuse and move towards a drug-free India.
Under the leadership of Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Nagpur Police have launched “Operation Thunder” to crack down on drug smuggling and abuse. In the past few days alone, various teams from the Nagpur Crime Branch have conducted raids at 17 locations and registered 16 offences.
