Nagpur: Bori Police have arrested two men in connection with the death of 41-year-old Dinesh Shriram Masram, whose body was found in a forested area near Ajnagaon. Police said the investigation was aided by sniffer dog ‘Mack’ from the Nagpur Rural Police dog squad.

The arrested accused have been identified as Rajendra Maroti Pimple (47) and Ravindra Maroti Pimple (52).

According to police, Masram had gone missing on September 19, following which a missing person complaint was registered. His body was later found in a forest area near Ajnagaon. A post-mortem examination reportedly established that Masram died due to electrocution.

During the investigation, police learnt that the two accused owned agricultural land near the spot where Masram’s body was recovered. They allegedly had an electrically charged fence installed around their farmland.

On September 23, the Nagpur Rural Police dog squad was called to examine the scene. Police said sniffer dog Mack followed a trail for around three kilometres, leading from the accused’s farm towards the spot where Masram’s body was found.

Based on the trail and subsequent investigation, police allegedly found the involvement of the two men. The case was subsequently registered under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), pertaining to culpable homicide, and both accused were arrested.

The accused were produced before a court, which remanded them to police custody until September 28.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Nagpur Rural Superintendent of Police Harssh Poddar, Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Mhase and the Assistant Superintendent of Police-cum-Sub-Divisional Police Officer.
