Republic Day Crackdown on Violators: Nagpur Traffic Police Act Against 1,728 Drivers

Nagpur: In a special Republic Day crackdown on traffic violators, the Nagpur Traffic Police led by DCP Traffic Lohit Matani, took action against 1,728 motorists for drunken driving and other violations under the Motor Vehicles Act.
The large-scale enforcement drive was conducted across the city on January 26. During the operation, traffic personnel collected a total of ₹1,48,050 as compounding fines from offenders.
Police have urged citizens to strictly follow traffic rules and carry all necessary vehicle documents while driving. Authorities confirmed that similar enforcement drives will continue to ensure road safety and discipline.
