Nagpur: A sense of unease has gripped the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, after a first-year paramedical student filed a complaint of ragging by senior students. The administration has taken the matter seriously, launching a formal investigation into the incident.
According to sources, the first-year student was allegedly summoned by senior students to their hostel room, where the ragging took place. In response, AIIMS has formed a three-member committee of senior doctors to investigate the claims. The committee has been probing the incident for the past two days, conducting inquiries with both the complainant and those residing in the hostel.
In a significant step, the AIIMS administration has also involved the police to assist in the investigation, further underscoring the seriousness of the allegations.
As of now, the committee's report is still pending, leaving many awaiting the outcome and any potential actions to be taken. Meanwhile, officials and students have remained tight-lipped about the incident, refraining from commenting on the case.
