Nagpur: Vidarbha's development and job creation have been prioritized through the establishment of a state-of-the-art industrial area, attracting international investment to the region. In a significant boost to Nagpur's industrial identity, Japan-based Horiba Corporation has launched a major international project in the Butibori Industrial Area.
The foundation stone for Horiba Corporation's facility was ceremoniously unveiled by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Speaking at the event, which took place at the company's Butibori premises, Fadnavis emphasized the new identity this project brings to Nagpur's industrial sector.
Prominent attendees included Horiba Corporation President Atsushi Horiba, Horiba India President Dr. Jai Haku, Corporate Officer Dr. Rajeev Gautam, and former MP Dr. Vikas Mahatme, among other dignitaries.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted that the project, developed with an investment of approximately 200 crore rupees, will provide essential diagnostic equipment to around 30,000 labs across India. Horiba Corporation's expertise in laboratory solutions and electronic chips is crucial for the medical field. Fadnavis expressed his delight in seeing the project completed swiftly, noting that he had laid the foundation stone for the 12-acre facility three years ago.
Fadnavis praised Nagpur's evolution into a metropolis with comprehensive infrastructure and assured support for the company's future projects, promising the necessary space and facilities.
India's emergence as a leading hub for medical tourism has been noteworthy, with the country currently ranked tenth globally. Fadnavis pointed out that India offers world-class medical facilities and services, contributing to its distinct global identity. Additionally, with India becoming a hub for semiconductors, Fadnavis encouraged Horiba Corporation to explore semiconductor projects in Nagpur, assuring full government cooperation for such initiatives. He expressed confidence that Horiba's Nagpur facility would set a high standard.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized that the influx of various industrial companies into Nagpur's industrial estates would significantly boost local employment and contribute to Vidarbha's social and economic progress. He underscored that this initiative is crucial in realizing the vision of a self-reliant India and called for collective efforts to elevate India to the world's third-largest economy.
Gadkari reiterated the government's policy of encouraging the industrial sector and assured comprehensive support for the development of industrial estates, reaffirming the commitment to fostering industrial growth in the region.
