Nagpur: Man Bludgeoned to Death in Nandanvan; Drunken Brawl Suspected

Nagpur: A man was bludgeoned to death at Jai Bhim Chowk in Nandanvan between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, in what police suspect could be the fallout of a drunken brawl. The victim has been identified as Rajesh Dhanvijay.
Police said unidentified assailants attacked Rajesh with gattu (road pavement blocks), inflicting fatal head injuries. He succumbed to his wounds before medical assistance could reach him.
Investigators have shortlisted a few suspects and registered a case of murder. According to officials, Rajesh was a habitual drinker, and preliminary evidence indicates that an alcohol-fuelled altercation may have escalated into the fatal assault. A detailed probe is underway to trace the culprits and determine the exact motive.
