Burglary in Kamptee: Thieves Decamp With Cash and Gold Worth Over ₹5 Lakh

Nagpur: A case has been registered at the Old Kamathi Police Station after unidentified burglars broke into a locked house in Warispura and stole valuables worth more than ₹5 lakh. The incident occurred between 9:00 pm on August 11 and 4:00 pm on August 12, 2025, when the complainant, Nakeeb Akhtar Niyaz Ahmed (34), had locked his residence and gone out of town with his family.


According to police, the thieves broke the lock and latch of the main door to gain entry into the house. They then targeted the bedroom cupboard, stealing ₹20,000 in cash, gold ornaments weighing approximately 72 grams, and silver ornaments weighing around 110 grams. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at ₹5,09,321.


Based on the complaint lodged by the victim, Old Kamathi Police have registered a case under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unknown accused. Police are conducting further investigation to trace the culprits.
