Nagpur: Pachpaoli Police have arrested a 20-year-old youth for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl multiple times over the past year, resulting in her pregnancy.

According to police, the 17-year-old victim, a resident of the Mankapur police station area, came into contact with the accused through Instagram. Despite knowing that the girl was a minor, the accused allegedly continued communication and repeatedly called her to his residence.

Police said that between January 28, 2025 and January 28, 2026, the accused forcibly established physical relations with the girl on multiple occasions. The victim later became pregnant, following which the matter came to light.

Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s 50-year-old parent, Pachpaoli Police registered a case against Prajwal Raghunath Khedkar (20), a resident of Hanuman Society, Pachpaoli, Nagpur.

An offence has been registered under Section 64(2)(M) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 4 and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is in progress.
