Nagpur: Maharashtra BJP spokesperson Ajay Pathak has lodged a complaint at Sitabuldi police station after receiving a threat call from Syria. In his written complaint, he has requested police protection, prompting law enforcement authorities to initiate an investigation. The case has also been forwarded to the Cyber Police for further analysis.

Threat Call Originated from Syrian Code +97:

According to police, Pathak received a call from a number with the +97 country code, which is associated with Syria. However, the number is now reported to be inactive. The Cyber Cell is currently examining the details to trace the origin of the call and verify its authenticity.

Threat Linked to Pathak’s Comments on Nagpur Riots:

Pathak, a Nagpur resident, mentioned in his complaint that he had been actively appearing on news channels to comment on the recent Nagpur riots. He first received a threatening call warning him of serious consequences. Initially, he dismissed it, but after receiving another threat call on Monday, he decided to inform senior BJP leaders. Acting on their advice, he filed an official complaint with the Sitabuldi police.

Authorities are now investigating the matter, and additional security measures for Pathak are under consideration. The Cyber Police is working to determine the source of the call and whether it poses a genuine security threat.
