Nagpur: In a tragic incident triggered by sudden stormy weather, a 55-year-old vegetable vendor lost his life after being struck on the head by a flying tin sheet in the Kotwali area of Nagpur on May 21, 2025.
The deceased, Naresh Udaji Nanhe, a resident of Bhuteshwar Nagar near Gangabai Ghat, was seated at his vegetable stall in front of Sutikagruha Hospital in Mahal around 6:15 pm when strong winds and heavy rain hit the area. A tin sheet from a nearby temporary shed was dislodged by the wind and flew through the air, landing directly on Nanhe’s head and causing serious injuries.
Bystanders rushed him to Mayo Hospital for urgent medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Doctors pronounced him dead shortly after admission.
Following medical notification, Kotwali Police registered a case of accidental death. Sub-Inspector Katkade is conducting further investigations into the incident.
