Nagpur: In a significant crackdown on human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, Nagpur Crime Branch’s Social Security Branch (SSB), successfully raided an OYO hotel in Bhilgaon under Operation Shakti on September 9, 2025. The operation, conducted between 3:30 PM and 10 PM, targeted individuals allegedly running a prostitution racket for financial gain.
Acting on credible intelligence, officers raided MR OYO Hotel, House No. 40, Ward No. 2, Bhilgaon, Jaiswal Bar area. During the raid, police apprehended the accused couple—Manishpal Sudarshan Rajput (49) and his wife Simarani Rajput (50), residents of Duplex No. 9, Agrasen Nagar, Bhilgaon—along with an accomplice identified as Sonu alias Syed Ali. The accused were allegedly providing rooms to customers and forcing women into commercial sexual activity. A minor victim was also reportedly involved, according to police sources.
The operation led to the rescue of one woman from exploitation. Authorities seized ₹1,500 in cash, four mobile phones, a DVR, and other electronic material valued at approximately ₹1,51,285. The accused were booked under BNS Sections 143(2), 143(3) and relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Yashodharanagar Police Station.
Officials confirmed that the raid was conducted under the guidance of Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravindrakumar Singal and other senior officers, with Inspector Rahul Shire and his team leading the field action. The arrested individuals have been remanded to judicial custody, and the police are continuing further investigation to identify additional victims and accomplices.
