Nagpur: In a coordinated crackdown against illegal activities, Nagpur Police’s Crime Branch and Ajni Police Station conducted a joint “comb-down operation” in Rahate Nagar, Rameshwari area, between 8 PM on September 9 and 1 AM on September 10, 2025.
The operation aimed to strengthen law and order and target criminals involved in illegal liquor sales, gambling, arms possession, and drug-related offenses.
During the operation, police checked suspects with prior criminal records, absconders, habitual housebreakers, vehicle thieves, and individuals involved in offenses against persons. Authorities carried out legal action against offenders, updated records, and registered new cases.
A total of 2 cases were registered under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act against illegal liquor sellers, and 1 case under Section 122 of the Maharashtra Police Act was filed. Additionally, police verified the residences of 27 habitual offenders involved in housebreaking, vehicle theft, illegal liquor sales, drug offenses, and other criminal activities.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Vasant Pardeshi, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime), Rahul Maknikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection), and Abhijeet Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch). A total of 20 officers and 50 personnel from Crime Branch and Ajni Police participated in the successful operation.
