Nagpur: With temperatures soaring across central India, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway has launched a Free Chilled Water Distribution Service at major stations to provide relief to passengers traveling during the peak summer months.
Starting April 22, 2025, the service has been implemented at Sevagram, Dhamangaon, Wani, Pandhurna, and Multai railway stations. The initiative is primarily aimed at assisting passengers in general and unreserved coaches, who are among the most vulnerable to heat-related discomfort during long-distance journeys.
On the inaugural day, chilled water bottles were distributed on board Train No. 12616 Grand Trunk Express and Train No. 12792 Secunderabad–Patna Express, receiving positive feedback from commuters. Volunteers actively handed out bottles to passengers, ensuring hydration and comfort in the scorching heat.
The distribution is being closely monitored by station authorities to ensure hygienic, smooth, and uninterrupted service. Special attention is being paid to cleanliness and operational efficiency at all distribution points.
This thoughtful initiative underlines Central Railway’s commitment to passenger welfare, especially during extreme weather conditions. The Nagpur Division continues to take proactive measures to enhance the travel experience, making safety, comfort, and care a top priority for all passengers.
