MSEB Worker Electrocuted While Replacing Transformer in Hingna

Nagpur: In a tragic incident, a 31-year-old wireman working with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) died due to electrocution while replacing a transformer in the Hingna area of Nagpur.


The deceased has been identified as Ajay Arvind Hadge, a native of Chimur in Chandrapur district, who was currently residing in Jageshwarpuri, Hingna. The incident occurred on June 4, 2026, around 7 am in a field located behind Ashray School under Hingna police jurisdiction.


According to police, Hadge was carrying out transformer replacement work on an electric pole along with a colleague when he accidentally came into contact with a live wire and suffered a severe electric shock. He lost consciousness on the spot.

He was initially rushed to a rural hospital and later shifted to a private medical facility. However, doctors declared him dead at around 8:10 pm during treatment.


Based on a complaint filed by his brother, Akshay Zanzal, Hingna police have registered an accidental death case. Further investigation is underway.
