Nagpur: In a proactive move to ensure safe and uninterrupted train operations during the upcoming monsoon season, Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has successfully completed 100% of the targeted pre-monsoon safety works under its Monsoon Safety Plan 2025.
Comprehensive works were undertaken across Engineering, Signal & Telecom, and Electrical (TRD/OHE) departments. The Engineering Department focused on strengthening drainage systems, desilting water passages under 1,200+ bridges, and cleaning trackside and yard drains. Joint inspections with state officials were conducted at 24 vulnerable locations, ensuring full clearance. GPS-enabled tracking devices were issued to patrolmen for real-time monitoring during rain.
The Signal & Telecom Department sealed signal units to prevent water ingress and conducted post-rain inspections. Faulty components were replaced, and lightning protection systems were thoroughly tested.
Electrical (TRD/OHE) teams inspected major OHE structures, cleared vegetation near lines, and tested surge protection systems. Junction boxes and cable trays were sealed to prevent moisture-related faults. A new, safer control panel was installed at Godhani Station.
With round-the-clock emergency teams in place and all systems monsoon-ready, Nagpur Division reaffirms its commitment to safety, reliability, and seamless train operations throughout the rainy season.
