Nagpur: In a swift and effective response under ‘Operation Shodh’, MIDC Police successfully traced and rescued a missing 15-year-old girl within just 18 hours of her disappearance, bringing immense relief to her distressed family.
On May 24, 2025, Manisha Radheshyam Uke (39), a resident of Isasani, lodged a complaint with MIDC Police Station, reporting that her daughter had gone missing and suspected that an unknown individual had lured her away. Following her complaint, a case was registered under Crime No. 562/2025, Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Recognizing the seriousness of the case, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Madane launched a dedicated search operation titled ‘Operation Shodh’. A special investigation team was immediately formed under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Gokul Mahajan.
During the investigation, police received information that the missing girl was last seen with her friend. Acting on this lead, Beat Marshals Police Constables Manoj (6665) and Rupesh (5430) conducted an inquiry at a residence in Wanadongri. It was suspected that the girl might be at the home of Sneha Meshram, the sister of her friend Jagruti, in Khaparkheda.
A team comprising Constable Sharad Nakhale (3035), Police Sub-Inspector Sunil Sarkate (6424), and Woman PSI Shubhangi Kumre (1687) swiftly launched a search operation in Khaparkheda. Thanks to their coordinated and sensitive approach, the girl—identified as Payal—was found safe and reunited with her mother.
This remarkable operation was executed within 18 hours, showcasing the efficiency, empathy, and dedication of the MIDC Police. The girl’s family, overwhelmed with relief, expressed deep gratitude. The mother was moved to tears upon seeing her daughter again.
‘Operation Shodh’ stands as a testament not only to effective police work but also to their commitment and compassion towards public safety and child protection.
