Nagpur: A group of three unidentified men allegedly attempted to break into a Bank of India branch, a pharmaceutical company and a mobile phone shop at different locations in Nagpur, prompting police to launch an investigation into the suspected burglary attempts.
According to police, the suspects, believed to be aged between 20 and 30 years, had covered their faces while carrying out the attempted thefts.
The complaint was lodged by Nikhil Namdevrao Potdar (36), a manager with the Bank of India, who resides at Sai Mauli Palace, Rathi Layout, Dattawadi, Nagpur.
The incidents occurred between 2 am on October 2 and 5 am on October 3, according to the police record. The suspects were allegedly seen on CCTV while attempting to commit theft at Jarun Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd, House No. 22, Aathwa Mile, Dawlameti; the Bank of India branch at Rathi Layout, Dawlameti; and Sugandha Mobile Shop at Maroti Nagar, Dattawadi.
Police said the suspects’ movements were captured on CCTV cameras, following which a complaint was lodged.
Mankapur police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are examining CCTV footage and investigating whether the same group was involved in all three attempted burglaries.
