Nagpur: A minor dispute escalated into a brutal murder near Shatabdi Nagar Chowk, close to Taywade Hospital, in the jurisdiction of Ajni Police Station late on August 26, 2024. The incident occurred between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM, when a group of individuals attacked and fatally stabbed a 32-year-old man.

The victim, identified as Pawan Vijay Sontakke, a resident of Ramteke Nagar, Ajni, Nagpur, was assaulted by three men armed with sharp and lethal weapons. The accused, Rajesh Ruprava Pradhan (32), Bhima Ruprava Pradhan (35), both residents of Kaushalya Nagar, Ajni, Nagpur, and Vicky Bhimrao Gambhir (30), a resident of the same area, along with their accomplices, attacked Sontakke, stabbing him in the abdomen, chest, waist, and head, leading to his death.

Following the incident, Sontakke's wife, Madhuri Pawan Sontakke (30), lodged a complaint with the Ajni Police. Based on her report, a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the BNS.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the murder and to apprehend any additional suspects involved in the crime.
