Nagpur: In a significant overhaul of the Police Department, the Maharashtra Government on Tuesday transferred 29 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) and Superintendent of Police (SP)-rank officers, including four from Nagpur.
As part of the reshuffle, DCP (Zone-I) Anurag Jain has been appointed as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Wardha district. DCP (Zone-IV) Vijaykant Sagar has been transferred to Mumbai, where he will continue to serve in the same capacity.
Vishwa Pansare, previously serving as SP (CID), has also been appointed as the new SP of Wardha. Additionally, SP (ACB) Rahul Maknikar will rejoin the Nagpur city police force as DCP, a role he previously held as DCP (Zone-III).
Laxmikant Patil, the Principal of the Police Training School in Nagpur, has been transferred to Mumbai as SP (Cyber Security), replacing Nilesh Tambe, who was previously Additional SP in Nandurbar.
Other notable transfers include SP (Yavatmal) Pawan Bansod, who has been moved to the State CID (Crime) in Amravati. SP (Wardha) Noorul Hasan has been assigned as the Commandant of SRPF (Group XI) in Navi Mumbai.
Further changes include the appointment of Digambar Pradhan, SP (Vigilance) for Pune Metropolitan Development Region Authority (PMRDA), as the new SP (ACB) for the Nagpur Division. Kumar Chinta, previously Additional SP in Gadchiroli, has been transferred to Yavatmal as SP.
In total, 18 other police officials have also been transferred across various regions in the state.
