Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered a case after a JCB excavator worth ₹25 lakh was allegedly stolen from Bhilgaon on the outskirts of Nagpur.
According to police, the complainant, Yogesh Chandrakant Mundale (40), a resident of Pahune Layout, Kamptee Road, Bhilgaon, is engaged in the business of renting out JCB machines. He owns a yellow JCB India Limited 3DX excavator valued at approximately ₹25 lakh.
As per the complaint, the complainant’s driver had parked the JCB at a designated location in Naglok Colony, Bhilgaon, under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station, at around 9 pm on July 14. After parking the machine, the driver handed over the keys to Mundale and left for his native village in Chhattisgarh.
When Mundale visited the parking spot at around 7.30 am on July 15, he found that the JCB was missing. Despite making efforts to trace the heavy vehicle, he was unable to locate it and subsequently approached the police.
Based on his complaint, Yashodhara Nagar Police registered FIR No. 530/2026 against an unknown accused under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with the relevant theft provisions.
Police have launched an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area while also tracking possible routes through which the stolen excavator could have been transported. Efforts are underway to identify the accused and recover the stolen JCB.
