Nagpur: A major house-breaking incident has been reported in Brahmanagar, Narasala Road, where thieves decamped with cash and gold worth ₹1.82 lakh while the family was away. The Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case and launched a search for the unidentified culprit.
According to police, the incident occurred between 3:00 pm on February 4 and 1:30 am on February 5, when complainant Anil Keshavrao Goswami (45) had locked his rental home and gone with his wife and child to his sister’s residence in Gausiya Colony.
Taking advantage of the empty house, an unknown burglar allegedly broke the lock of the main door, entered the residence, forced open an iron cupboard, and stole ₹50,000 in cash along with 53 grams of gold ornaments. The total stolen property is valued at ₹1,82,500.
Upon receiving the complaint, Hudkeshwar Police registered an FIR under Sections 305(1), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
Police teams have initiated efforts to identify and trace the accused. Further investigation is underway.
