Nagpur: Sonegaon Police arrested a 24-year-old man for violating an externment (haddpar) order on Friday evening.

During a routine patrol around 6 PM on July 11, police received a tip-off that a history-sheeter, externed from Nagpur city and rural limits, was spotted near his residence at Rahul Nagar slums, Somalwada.

Upon reaching the location, the man attempted to flee but was chased down and detained. He identified himself as Vishal Suresh Nayak (24), a resident of Rahul Nagar, Somalwada.

Further inquiry revealed that a DCP Zone 1 externment order (No. 10/2024 dated 12.11.2024) had banned him from entering Nagpur city and district limits for two years. As he was found within prohibited limits without prior permission, a case under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act was registered at Sonegaon Police Station. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing.
