Gittikhadan Police Arrest Accused Carrying Deadly Weapons in Nagpur

Nagpur: In another major operation, Gittikhadan Police Station arrested a suspect found possessing deadly weapons allegedly intended for criminal activities.

According to police, at around 11:55 pm on May 13, 2026, a police patrol team received information about suspicious persons near Ayyappa Temple on Gorewada Ring Road.


As police approached a red Volkswagen Car parked on the roadside, three individuals fled from the scene, while one suspect was caught inside the vehicle.

The detained accused was identified as Syed Jameel Syed Jahid, aged 21.


During questioning, the accused disclosed the names of his absconding associates:

  1. Ajlan Mohin Qazi
  2. Shreyas Shendere
  3. Allen

The accused informed police that they had recently been involved in a dispute with some individuals.


During the search of the vehicle in the presence of witnesses, police recovered three iron sickles, one sword, and one iron axe from the car’s trunk.

Police seized the weapons and vehicle worth a total of Rs 2,51,400.


As the accused were allegedly carrying weapons with the intention of committing a cognizable offence and violating prohibitory orders, police registered a case under Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.


One accused has been arrested while police continue to search for the remaining suspects. Further investigation is underway.
