Ganeshpeth Police Register Burglary Case After Rs 9.75 Lakh Looted in Broad-Day-Light

Nagpur: A major burglary has been reported under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth Police Station.


Police said that on May 13, 2026, between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm, complainant Bharti Sandeep Tiwari, aged 53, had locked her residence at Plot No. 203, Ratan Plaza, Santra Market and gone to deliver lunch to her husband at a pharmacy near Shiv Mandir.


During her absence, an unidentified thief allegedly broke the main door lock and latch, entered the house, and stole cash worth Rs 7 lakh along with gold and silver ornaments from an iron cupboard kept in the bedroom.


The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at Rs 9.75 lakh.

Based on the complaint, Police Sub-Inspector Amit Shelke registered a case against unknown accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police have launched a search operation and further investigation is in progress.
