Nagpur: In the narrow lanes of Mahakali Nagar slum, where survival often takes priority over dreams, a group of determined students scripted inspiring success stories through sheer hard work and perseverance. Battling poverty, social challenges and limited resources, 21 students from the locality cleared the Maharashtra State Board Class 10 and 12 examinations with remarkable results, earning appreciation from the Nagpur Police.
To recognise their achievement and encourage education among youth living in vulnerable conditions, the Beltarodi Police organised a special felicitation ceremony in Mahakali Nagar under the initiative of Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Singal and Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 4 Rashmita Rao.
According to police officials, most families in the slum survive through daily wage labour, domestic work and other small jobs. Despite financial hardships and lack of adequate facilities, parents continued striving to educate their children, while the students remained focused on academics and achieved notable success through dedication and determination.
The event was organised with the objective of motivating students from slum areas to pursue education, stay away from criminal activities and develop trust and confidence in the police administration. Officials said such initiatives are aimed at giving students a positive direction in life and helping them secure respectable positions in society through education.

DCP Zone 4 Rashmita Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ajni Division, senior officials from Beltarodi Police Station, social activist Ashok Bagul, Kalyani Tai, local residents and parents were also present in large numbers.

Addressing the students, Commissioner Ravinder Singal said that consistency, discipline, hard work and positive thinking are essential for success in life. He described India’s youth as the nation’s greatest strength and urged students to become responsible and ideal citizens contributing towards the progress of society and the country.
Social activist Ashok Bagul expressed gratitude towards the police department for encouraging students from slum areas. He said such initiatives boost the confidence of children and help provide them with a positive outlook towards life.
Nearly 400 parents and residents attended the programme. Police officials stated that the event helped strengthen communication and social harmony between students, parents and the police administration.
