Nagpur: A 62-year-old security guard lost his life days after being hit by a speeding car in the Kapil Nagar area. The deceased, identified as Shailendra Janardan Waghmare, a resident of Rabia Chowk Colony, Indora, was returning home from duty on his bicycle when the tragic accident occurred.
On November 2, 2025, between 7 pm and 7.30 pm, while Waghmare was cycling towards his home, the driver of a Kia Sonet (MH-49 CL-1362) allegedly drove the vehicle rashly and negligently, hitting him from behind near Sandeep Chicken Shop, on the road connecting Patankar Chowk to the RTO office.
Waghmare sustained grievous injuries and was first rushed to Janata Hospital, later shifted to Mayo Hospital, and finally to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead during treatment on November 6 at 9.34 pm.
Following a complaint by his son Adibh Waghmare (26), the Kapil Nagar Police registered an offence under Sections 106(1) and 281(1) of the BNS against the car driver. Further investigation is underway under the supervision of PSI Gajre.
