Nagpur: Khaparkheda police have booked a dhaba owner along with nine others for allegedly allowing the consumption of liquor on the premises of a roadside eatery in the Chanakapur area of Nagpur.
Acting on a specific tip-off, the police raided Khapekar Saoji Hotel/Dhaba on Friday night between 8.20 pm and 8.50 pm. During the inspection, the police found separate arrangements made for customers to consume alcohol inside the dhaba, which is a violation of excise norms.
Police seized liquor and related materials worth ₹2,460, including foreign liquor bottles, plastic glasses, plates and water bottles used for on-site consumption.
A case has been registered against dhaba owner Ratan Laxman Khapekar and nine other persons present at the spot at the time of the raid. The police have warned that strict action will continue against establishments and individuals violating liquor laws in the area.
