Nagpur: The "Shravan Mahotsav" organized by Lotus Cultural and Sporting Association at the ancient Shiva temple in Mankapur saw an enthusiastic response on the first Shravan Monday. On the inaugural day, a total of 1,17,713 Parthiv Shivlings were crafted from the sacred soil of the Ganges by a large group of women.
The event commenced at 9:30 AM with the Rudrabhishek ceremony performed by West Nagpur MLA Shri Vikas Thakre, former Lotus president Shri Girdhari Ji Mantri, and Smt. Kiran Mantri, with 11 iterations of the Rudrabhishek ritual. After the Abhishek, the honorable MLA, along with organizer Dayashankar Tiwari, participated in the Parthiv Shivling construction. The Mantri couple also contributed to the construction. Throughout the process, the continuous chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra created a serene atmosphere, attracting a steady stream of devotees.
Participants, ranging from children to the elderly, contributed to the unique ritual, crafting Parthiv Shivlings as per their commitment and then returning home. The event, which began at 9:00 AM, concluded at 5:30 PM. Following the conclusion, all the crafted Parthiv Shivlings were anointed, worshipped, and then immersed in a specially constructed artificial tank at the venue. Devotees personally carried out the immersion of the Shivlings they had crafted.
The success of this event was made possible under the leadership of Dayashankar Tiwari, with the dedicated efforts of former Mayor Shri Sunilji Agrawal, Manoj Singh Ji, Amar Khode, Vinod Gupta, Vinod Soni, Vidhyadhar Mishra, Shashikant Harde, Amit Mishra, Smt. Preeti Kashyap, Pt. Manoj Pandey, Prashant Gupta, Anil Bawangad, Avinash Sahu, Vivek Thakur, Kripashankar Tiwari, and Smt. Rekha Vande, among others.
The sacred activity of Parthiv Shivling construction will resume from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM tomorrow and will continue uninterrupted until September 3. All Shiva devotees are humbly requested to attend this unique event with their families and spread the word among fellow devotees to earn spiritual merit.
