Nagpur: Unidentified burglars broke into a locked house in Hudkeshwar area and decamped with cash, gold and silver jewellery, and a scooter collectively valued at ₹7.83 lakh, police said.
The incident occurred between 7.30 pm on March 9 and 9.30 am on March 10 at Plot No. 38, Vinayak Nagar, behind Gajanan Mandir, Mhalgi Nagar. Complainant Laxmidas Bharatdas Vaishnav (35) had locked his residence and gone with his family to his father’s house in Vijay Nagar, Kalamna Market, Nagpur.
During his absence, unknown accused allegedly broke the main door lock and latch, entered the house, and stole ₹12,000 in cash from a bedroom cupboard along with gold and silver ornaments. The accused also fled with a Honda Activa (MH-49-AD-1454) parked at the premises.
Based on the complaint, an offence under Sections 305(a), 331(3) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered at Hudkeshwar Police Station by Assistant Sub-Inspector Dandwate. Police have launched a search operation to trace the accused and recover the stolen property
