Burglars Break Into Shantinagar Flat, Steal Cash and Jewellery Worth Rs 2.57 Lakh

Nagpur: Shantinagar Police have registered a house burglary case after unidentified thieves broke into a locked apartment and stole cash and gold-silver ornaments worth Rs 2.57 lakh.


The incident took place between 6.30am on April 14 and 9.30am on April 17, 2026, at Flat No. B-2, Raj Heights, near Nayapura High School in Nagpur.

Police said complainant Hatim Tamim Dalal (30) had locked his residence and travelled with his family to Amravati to visit relatives.


Taking advantage of the family’s absence, unknown burglars allegedly broke the main door lock and latch, entered the flat, and decamped with Rs 1 lakh in cash along with gold and silver jewellery kept inside an iron cupboard in the bedroom.


The total loss has been estimated at Rs 2,57,500.

Based on the complaint, Shantinagar Police have registered a case against unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.


Police have launched a search for the culprits and further investigation is in progress.
