Nagpur: In yet another disturbing incident highlighting the growing menace of unruly behaviour during late-night hours in the city, a middle-aged woman was booked by the Ambazari police after she allegedly created a drunken ruckus near Starbucks at Shankar Nagar Square around midnight on Sunday, May 25.

According to police sources, the woman, residing under Ajni Police Station limits, was found shouting and behaving aggressively in public during a routine patrol. When police personnel tried to intervene, she reportedly abused them and refused to cooperate.

The police team then escorted her to their vehicle and took her for a medical examination, where doctors confirmed alcohol consumption. It was later revealed that she had earlier visited a nearby club, where she allegedly consumed excessive alcohol and created a scene.

A case was registered at Ambazari Police Station under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for creating public nuisance and obstructing government work. Though she was not detained, the woman was served a legal notice and released.

This incident adds to the rising concerns over safety and law enforcement challenges during Nagpur’s late-night hours, especially near popular hangout spots and clubs. Authorities are now contemplating stricter monitoring of nightlife activity to curb such behavior.
