Nagpur: In a historic announcement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed plans to construct a grand memorial for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Agra’s Kothi, the site where the Maratha warrior king was once imprisoned. The Maharashtra government will acquire the land to build the memorial, which is expected to attract more visitors than the iconic Taj Mahal.
The Kothi, now known as Meena Bazaar, holds significant historical importance as the place where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was held captive by the Mughals. CM Fadnavis emphasized that the memorial will honor the legacy of the great Maratha king and serve as a symbol of Maharashtra’s pride.
