Nagpur: Beltarodi Police have registered a case against a 55-year-old man for allegedly molesting a woman and making obscene gestures while she was out walking her pet dog in the Narendra Nagar area of Nagpur.
According to the police, the incident occurred between 9 am and 12 noon on August 4, 2026, on the road in front of Vasundhara Enclave Gate under the Beltarodi police station limits.
The complainant, a 32-year-old woman from Narendra Nagar, told police that she was walking her dog when the accused allegedly approached her and first patted the dog. He then allegedly touched the woman inappropriately by running his hand over her back and lower body before making obscene gestures at her.
The woman immediately raised an alarm and, with the help of bystanders, stopped the accused at the spot. When questioned, the man identified himself as Rajesh Gangadhar Patil (55), a resident of Plot No. 102, Dinprajapati Colony, Narendra Nagar, Nagpur.
Based on the woman’s complaint, Beltarodi Police registered a case against Rajesh Patil under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman.
Police have launched further investigation into the case.
