Nagpur: A mobile shop in Jaripatka area of Nagpur was targeted by burglars who broke open the shutter and decamped with mobile phones and accessories worth over ₹2.44 lakh.
The complainant, Dinesh Kanhaiyalal Talreja (40), runs “Metro Mobile Shop,” a mobile sales and repair store at Barakholi Chowk under Jaripatka Police Station limits. He closed the shop at around 10 pm on January 26, 2026, and returned the next morning at about 10:30 am on January 27 to find the shutter lock broken.
Unknown thieves had entered the shop and stolen 35 new mobile phones, mobile accessories, three smartwatches, and 30 old or repair phones kept by customers. The total loss has been estimated at ₹2,44,500.
Based on Talreja’s complaint, Jaripatka Police have registered a case against unknown accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Efforts are underway to identify and trace the culprits.
