Nagpur: A 22-year-old man drowned in a water tank near a brick kiln in Neri, under New Kamptee Police Station limits, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Lalit Ratan Yadav, a resident of Sundari, Taikari, District Bazaar, Chhattisgarh, was temporarily staying near the Pal brick kiln in Neri, Nagpur.
On Monday, February 17, at around 1:30 PM, locals found his body floating in the water tank near the kiln. He was immediately pulled out and rushed to the Sub-District Hospital in Kamptee, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Following a report by Ratan Uday Yadav (65), the victim’s father, New Kamptee Police have registered an accidental death case. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances leading to the drowning.
