Nagpur: In a swift and compassionate response under “Operation Dignity”, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur successfully rescued two missing women from Platform No. 1 of Nagpur Railway Station in the early hours of Thursday, June 19, 2025.
Around 5:00 AM, an alert RPF team led by Sub-Inspector Vijyapal Singh spotted two distressed women appearing confused and anxious during routine patrolling. Sensing the situation, the team safely escorted them to the RPF Post for further assistance.
Upon questioning by Assistant Sub-Inspector B.K. Sarpate, the women disclosed that they had left their homes in Balaghat district about 10 days ago without informing their families. The RPF immediately verified their identities and reached out to the local police in Balaghat, where both women had already been reported missing and cases had been officially registered.
Following the verification, the Balaghat District Police was notified. A team led by an Assistant Sub-Inspector soon arrived at RPF Post Nagpur, where, after completing all required documentation and formalities, the women were handed over to the Balaghat Police for further legal action.
This timely intervention by RPF Nagpur showcases the force’s dedication to public safety and humane policing, especially under initiatives like Operation Dignity, aimed at safeguarding vulnerable individuals at railway premises.
