Nagpur: Ajni Police arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly possessing MD drugs worth nearly Rs 15 lakh in the Ajni area of Nagpur.
According to police, the action was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal. Acting on specific intelligence, the Ajni Police investigation team conducted a raid between 3.55 am and 5 am on May 25, 2026, at the residence of accused Aditya Bhimrao Telgote (23), a resident of Savitribai Phule Nagar, Galli No. 6, Annabhau Sathe Marg, Ajni.
Following all procedures prescribed under the NDPS Act and in the presence of panch witnesses, police searched the accused and his house. During the search, officers recovered 290 grams and 59 milligrams of MD powder concealed behind plywood on the terrace of the house.
Police also seized two mobile phones along with the contraband, taking the total value of the seized property to Rs 14,90,950.
Investigators stated that the accused was allegedly possessing the MD drugs for sale and financial gain. A case has been registered against him at Ajni Police Station under Sections 8(c) and 22(c) of the NDPS Act. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior police officials including Additional Commissioner of Police Shivaji Rathod, DCP Rashmita Rao, and ACP Narendra Hivare, along with Ajni Police personnel.
