Youth Suffers Fractured Nose After Assault Over Old Road Rage Dispute near Traffic Park

Nagpur: A 19-year-old labourer sustained a fractured nose after he was allegedly assaulted by a man and his associates near a food cart in Dharampeth on Sunday evening. Sitabuldi Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


According to police, the complainant, Piyush Vinod Baghel (19), a resident near Mangal Singh Bagde’s house in Ganesh Tower, Amravati Road, Telangkhedi, had an earlier dispute with the accused over a vehicle-driving issue on May 18, 2026.


Police said that on July 12, 2026, at around 7 pm, Piyush, along with his 16-year-old friend, went to a dabeli stall near Traffic Children’s Park in Dharampeth for snacks. The accused, identified only as Sidhu, along with two to three of his associates, was already present at the spot.


According to the complaint, Sidhu allegedly started abusing Piyush. When the complainant questioned why he was being abused, Sidhu and his associates allegedly attacked him, punching him repeatedly on the face and head.


The assault resulted in a fracture to Piyush’s nose, following which he was admitted to Mayo Hospital for medical treatment.


Based on the complaint, Sitabuldi Police have registered a case under Sections 117(2), 352 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for voluntarily causing hurt and acts committed with common intention.


Police have launched an investigation to trace the accused and ascertain the involvement of the other persons who allegedly participated in the assault.
