Nagpur: Tehsil Police arrested a 25-year-old youth after he was found brandishing a deadly weapon in a public place during the early hours of Thursday.

The incident took place around 12:40 AM near Teen Khamba Chowk, behind a public toilet in the Timki locality. During night patrolling, the police team spotted the accused displaying aggressive behavior while carrying a weapon.

The suspect, identified as Saksham alias Madhur Premnath Maudekar, a resident of Goli Bar Chowk, behind Soda Factory, Jagannath Budhwari, was immediately apprehended. Police recovered a sharp iron dagger worth around ₹500 from his possession.

As he was found creating panic in a public place and suspected to be preparing for a cognizable offence, a case was registered against him under Section 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, based on a complaint filed by Constable Rajesh Thakur. The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Bhagat.
