Nagpur: Thieves broke into a locked house in Adarsh Nagar, Ghogli Road under Koradi Police limits, and stole ornaments worth ₹2.72 lakh in broad daylight on July 16.
Complainant Madhukar Pralhad Ingle (60) and his wife had left for work after locking their house around 9:00 AM. When they returned home around 6:15 PM, they found the main door lock broken and their bedroom cupboard ransacked.
According to police, the burglars gained access by breaking the door latch and lock, and stole gold and silver ornaments kept in a steel cupboard.
Based on Ingle’s complaint, a case was registered at Koradi Police Station under Sections 305(A) and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Sub-Inspector Kalke is leading the investigation. Efforts are on to identify and trace the culprits through technical and local inputs.
